Defending the King of Veldspar

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.
Marcus Aurelius

In this case, the side of the majority is avoiding the ranks of the insane, and smacking them down severely for daring to think they could harass the Veld-God that is Chribba. CONCORD Preservation and Recovery has found themselves under a declaration of war from some of the primary Mercenary powers left remaining in Eve, along with 15-20 smaller corporations...if not more...XII Legion included.

XII Legion Declares War Against CONCORD Preservation and Recovery
From: CONCORD
Sent: 2009.12.30 23:16

XII Legion has declared war on CONCORD Preservation and Recovery.
Within 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. We are of the chosen ones, Sent from within New Eden, in the name of Man kind, Power and survival. We will lead the weak through the valley of the darkness. We are truly our brother's keepers and the finder of lost souls. Let it be known to all, to those who attempt to kill and destroy our brothers in arms. We will strike down with great vengeance and furious anger upon you and to those within your corporation And you will recognize and fear our names. New Eden help your soul.

CONCORD Preservation and Recovery has, after being flooded with declarations of war from all across New Eden, retracted their war against Chribba. I doubt, however, that it will stop here. They have crossed the line. Even the most notorious pirates are content to allow Chribba to mine Veld in lowsec, even in his titans, as they slaughter helpless travelers all around him...and yet he remains untouched. Such is the respect that the community has for this person that hundreds, if not thousands of people will drop what they are doing and rush to his defense at a moment's notice. In saving Chribba's POS's in the Irnin system this past day, next to Amarr Prime, the heathens were repulsed, having lost 3 Armageddons, 1 Omen, and 1 Maller. In turn the 'Knights of the Veld' lost 9 Pospreys.

IMM corp, of the Systematic-Chaos alliance, holders of Sov in much of Estoria, have been linked to this effort. One of their members, Prometheus09, clearly implicates himself of involvement with the CONCORD Preservation and Recovery corporation in his blog on December 22 entitled Knocking At The POS. Are we to sit and watch as an alliance chooses to harass the most beloved character in all the game? Zedrik Cayne and the IEEE have taken the step and put in the vote to bypass investigation and wage direct and open warfare upon these heathens.

XII Legion applauds his efforts and gladly supports the IEEE in this endeavor. The question is, how much of the Eve community will follow suite? A coordinated effort must be made in order to effectively harass the empire operations of the 5th largest alliance in the game. The next few weeks will tell where the lines will be drawn

A Satisfactory Ending and a Call to JIHAD!

Greetings yon readers.

Today has seen the end of our war against Silver Twilight Enterprises. Their good humor throughout the ordeal as well as their relatively polite behavior and willingness to now negotiate a peace. Taljian/IR2way, Zodd Nos, and Tovanis, all alts of the same person, have been removed from STENT and apologies have been made about the causes of the war. So, STENT is off the hook. Well fought gentlemen...look us up if you need help in the future. And so now it's a waiting game for Tal to get back into a player corp so we can kick him around a bit more...or log in and undock so we can gank another of his mining barges. ^_^

In other news, Chribba, all hail the true Lord of the Eve-verse, has been dec'd by a bunch of Systematic-Chaos alts who also stole one of his POS towers while also attempting to ransom him. Yeah...Chribba has not asked anyone for ISK, assistance, or anything to counter the alt corp called CONCORD Preservation and Recovery, thread found here, but Chribba is Chribba...and one does not mess with the provider of thine eve-search, third party services, and various other projects that a good chunk of EVE users integrate into their gaming lives every day.

And so this brings us to a momentous day, my friends...one of the rare moments in EVE that have brought the many individuals together to fight a common cause. Yes, that is right...a C&P Jihad has been declared against .CPR. and Systematic-Chaos for their offenses against the Eve-Lord Chribba. Over twenty organizations have put forth the votes to initiate hostilities against .CPR. and more are likely to follow. Their mains in Systematic-Chaos are also likely to begin feeling the heat shortly.

Sound the horns, my friends. Gather your ships, your drones, your friends and your foes. Put aside your differences in defense of Chribba. They have violated a Sacred Eve-Law. Let there be war...let us make impure their women. Gather your forces and let our strength is numbers blot out the sun. Let the games begin and may their pods rot in Rancer for all eternity! To war, my friends...to war...

Merry Christmas to me?

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

I'm honestly not quite sure what many of you would be doing reading a blog like this during such an important time of year, but I just had to take a moment to post this up. As of last night, I, Shina Windol, CEO/Legatus of the XII Legion corporation, have won our eve-Lord Chribba's mothership auction for an Aeon-class Supercap.

Thread here

While I have corpmates who could fly the darned thing and I could do so myself in 2 days worth of training, it's just not conducive to our operations and so will be sold off to the highest bidder. The sale of this awe-inspiring ship should raise at least 16 billion ISK in funds, allowing us to maintain our current war against STENT at the current wardec fee of 100 million ISK per week for approximately 3 years...and we will continue to fight them that long if we have to in order to kill Taljian/IR2Way, Zodd Nos and their ilk. We'll see you in space STENT, unless of course you pay the ransom.

Merry Christmas y'all.

Christmas season skirmishes

Welp, since we trounced STENT's fleet on December 15th, we haven't seen many of them out in any significant numbers. Oh we've had a few skirmishes in the area, almost always with XII Legion coming out on top.

Dragon Thunder's shiney new Drake and pod got popped by Kainan's solo Zealot on the 17th. STENT retaliated on the 19th by cornering Govry and his raven. He did, however, manage to kill Hern Choker's Executioner and Leshiye's Drake before falling to M Dary's Harbinger. Our response was swift, taking out one of our prime targets, IR2WAY in his massively expensive Nighthawk along with his pod, and hopefully a nice set of implants.

Mainly we've just picked off a few other targets as we've seen them. Another Harbi, Drake, Rifter, and Caracal.

So TL;DR is that Legion is still making good headway, war targets are getting frustrated if the increasing amount of smack talk is any indication, and STENT still refuses to pay the ransom as their alliance closes in on the 3 billion isk dmg taken mark closes in...nearly 5.2 billion isk in dmg has been dished out since the beginning of Operation Jazz Hands.

Pay the ransom and Merry Christmas to all

Remember remember the 15th of December...

Okay folks, you know the drill. Yes, that's right...it's story time again.

After a relatively quiet few days with very low STENT activity, there was a noticeable spike on Tuesday December 15th. There were a few of us on so we honestly weren't sure how much activity we'd see outside their Venilen station after the action that morning. Kainan, Walter, and Mixaren managed to pick a fight and pop M Dary's Abaddon as well as Neuroticdax's Drake at the cost of Kainan's Armageddon.

We were proven wrong and significant hostile activity was reported about five hours after the first engagement of the day. STENT appeared focused and ready for a fight as we soon heard there were seven of them camping Govry in station four jumps away in Tintoh.

Well, only two ways to deal with that, and we weren't inclined to wait it out with our numbers at the time. We quickly reshipped for something a bit heavier to offset the numbers disadvantage and to counter the reported four hostile battleships out and about. Arriving next door to Tintoh in Sivala, we heard a report that the hostiles were warping off, having likely spotted us with an alt. Gathering Govry from his station we swung back around to Halaima via Kamio and sent out scouts. We'd missed cutting them off from Sankassen...they were already back in Venilen at their normal station. However they gathered up their numbers as a few more signed in and came back out about 15 minutes later with a fleet of 10 to our 6.

By this time we had moved up a system to Huttaken and were awaiting to see which route they would take. A scout saw one of their members, Graviton Cleric split from the main body with his Manticore and head our way as a scout. Well it just wouldn't do to have our surprise opened too early and so we ducked next door into the rarely used system of Rairomon as STENT jumped into Huttaken and looked around back towards Irjunen for us.

Before we could jump them in a Huttaken belt, Graviton entered Rairomon local and spotted us right away on the gate. What happened next on his end I am not certain, be it lag spike or wrong button, but he began to re-approach the gate uncloaked. Adel got a quick point on him and Kainan insta-popped his little bomber but we failed to snag his pod.

The remaining eight members of the STENT fleet warped from their belt to the Rairomon gate and held, waiting for M Dary's late arrival in his Harbinger...except for Generaal DeLaRay and his Dominix...he jumped through and found himself primaried as he uncloaked...alone...as his alliance mates sat on the other side of the gate...

DLR went down hard and as he died, Runespear's Raven jumped through and uncloaked. The rest of the STENT members entered local and held cloak, only beginning to move and engage when the Raven hit half armor. Upon seeing the tell-tale explosion graphic we chose to 'focus all firepower on that Star Destroyer'...errr...I mean Scorpion which died in about 30 seconds flat.

At about the same time, Adel's Sacrilege couldn't take the damage any longer and got caught on the gate upon which we were all sitting, resulting in a disheartening boom. With a vengeance we lit into Andrew Green and his Megathron as Govry's Raven, their new primary, was taking serious damage. The Mega and the Raven went pop at almost the exact same time.

The remaining STENT members found themselves trapped. Points were being constantly spread to keep them in place, and they continued to aggress, primary'ing myself, Shina, in my Abaddon. In short order we destroyed M Dary's Harbinger, LooneyBandit's Drake, CRJ's Drake,
Hern Choker's Executioner, and Link Astro's Drake. Apparently three pods were also destroyed in the making of this fight, but I have no clue when they went pop...though I do like freshly frozen corpses. My Abaddon finished the fight at about 60% armor.

It was a clean sweep...the only thing that got away were pods, and the remaining Legion personnel, including Adel who had reshipped and come back in a rookie ship, were left to salvage and loot the field. Isk balanced out to just under 1 billion ISK dmg done, and about 226 million ISK dmg taken.

And so folks, Remember remember the 15th of December, don't underestimate the power of a well organized and focused gang, and STENT...pay the ransom ^_^

As the STENT war continues

Alright Ladies and Gents,

So far we are nearing two weeks into our war against Silver Twilight Enterprises alliance in pursuit of our previous war target smacktards formerly of Zeitgeist corp. At the present time STENT continues to refuse to pay the ransom and release our ZTG targets from their roster...their tears entertain us in the meantime.

So to pick up where I last left off, the evening of Day 3, December 10th, saw some more action out of STENT approximately ten hours or so after SHVAK was relieved of his cloaking Kestrel and pod. A STENT Drake, one of many that we've seen so far, decided to get adventurous and play some dock dock games off of their Caldari Navy station in Venilen. Now for those of you reading who have not visited this station, it's one of the tall narrow caldari stations that will spit you right out of dock range.

The target undocks 3 times, each time getting into low shield before edging back into dock range. On the fourth attempt, he's bumped a bit further off and we're pounding away at him. The target is starting to bleed into armor, a sure death sentence for a Drake, when two alliance mates in a Drake and a Harbinger undock to attempt to rescue him. Using ECM Drones, the Harbinger gets a lucky cycle on Xavier's Harbinger and the target Drake escapes with about 1/4 armor remaining. Frustrated by the loss of our imminent kill mail, all firepower is focused on the agressed Harbinger. Unfortunately in the process his drones cycle on my Pilgrim, allowing him a clean, non-tracking disrupted shot at Hornet in his Manticore, which had drifted too close to the fight. Hornet pops in three volleys, earning the 'That Guy' title for first corp loss in a particular war dec. Thankfully the Harbi pops moments later and we are able to grab loot from both wrecks while still coming out on top in terms of ISK killed and lost.

Things got quiet after that until about 01:30 eve-time Saturday morning on December 12th. Xavier, one of our buddies from NECAD that merged in to fight ZTG, found himself camped in Kaunokka, next door to STENT's Venilen base. Quickly gathering a group of Legionnaires together, Detria and company hustled out from Irjunen in response. Xavier undocked and grabbed aggro from the STENT fleet (Onyx, Megathron, Scorpion, Blackbird, Harbinger, and a few Drakes). Having agressed and now unable to dock, the STENT fleet found itself beset by XII Legion.

Xavier was already outside in his Harbinger, and had grabbed the Onyx with a point. At this point, the Legion fleet dropped out of warp, Walter's Guardian ensured Xavier's survival while another Harbinger, two Absolutions, a Dominix, and a Falcon laid into the surprised STENT'ers. The Onyx fell under the onslaught and the Megathron melted not long after, however the rest of the STENT fleet was able to escape before Legion personnel could cover distance to spread points. Despite missing out on the other mails, the field was ours as was the loot. Add that to no losses and a well executed strike and chalk up one more win for the Legion.

The rest of the weekend passed fairly quietly aside from some of the guy's picking off Lord Xymox's Drake in Onnamon in Black Rise missioning. He left their alliance shortly after in utter frustration.

Silver Twilight Enterprises Day 3

Alright ladies and gentlemen, it is currently Day 3 of our war dec against Silver Twilight Enterprises. So far they continue to refuse to meet our demands of isk and kicking ZTG members from their member corporations, and so far that has meant a decent number of kills for XII Legion personnel. Here's a rundown so far:

Day 1:
Day 1 got off to a pretty good start with the hulk kill mentioned in my previous entry. Later that afternoon, Kainan and I were sitting in station eating lunch and running pings on the location of random war targets when low and behold, two separate returns on one character, Banjorn (one of our primary ZTG targets now located in Crowded Igloo corporation) showing him moving between Perimeter and Suroken. Well that just wouldn't do to not go over and introduce ourselves since we had not had the pleasure of meeting during the NECAD v ZTG dec. Taking an educated guess as to which gates Banjorn would decide to use, we quickly moved to set up an ambush.

Our patience was quickly rewarded as our victim decided to either take a mission next door to Kusomonmon or make another run to Jita...we're still not sure which... He was intercepted at the gate after his jump into Kuso by myself in a Broadsword. Confronted with two options...run for the gate and jump back through or engage and die, Banjorn chose to valiantly engage a superior ship with his webber, 200mm rails, and t1 Hammerheads. Even overheating could not however save him as Kainan jumped in from Suroken, where he had paused to play backstop, and sealed Banjorn's fate. To his credit, however, he was able to safely extract his pod from the battlefield for which I commend his quick thinking.

Day 1 ended fairly uneventfully but with great amusement as STENT gathered together a fleet of approximately 20-25 people to camp me and two other corpmates into Irjunen for an hour and a half. They eventually got bored and dispersed, having failed to catch our interceptors and cloakers. After they dispersed we went back out and camped half a dozen in station for a few hours before calling it a night.

Day 2
Day 2 was, compared to Day 1, very quiet. I was detained by school and unable to participate for most of the day's hunting, so some of my details are a bit sketchy atm. Legion pilots very nearly bagged another mining Hulk, but were forced to watch him log off and his ship warp out as they were dropping on his belt. STENT activity appeared to be down from the previous day as no viable targets presented themselves until after another hour or so of trying to camp us in Irjunen from 4:00pm EST to 5:00pm or so, during which they continued to smack...albeit ineffectively. Mainly just mocking us and calling us cowards for not desiring to engage them 3 vs 20. Way to go guys...I bet you feel very manly and empowered in your Drake-swarm. Keep having fun and we'll see you in Irjunen at 4 ^_^.

After the camp once again scattered to the four winds, a gang got together and went to STENT's main base in Venilen. There, they attempted to prod STENT into a fight without their blob. A STENT Scorpion managed to avoid a Legion gang by approximately 5 seconds, having achieved a well timed cycle on our scout/tackler. STENT did not get away without loss however. In the excitement outside the Caldari Navy station that they live in in Venilen, a STENT Harbinger, who had been supporting the Scorp, mistakenly attacked the station and received a smackdown from Concord for his troubles.

Later that evening, pings and intel showed that there were two brave STENT souls mission running down in Minmatar space...well we just couldn't let that happen easily and so a small gang got together and headed down towards Rens. After nearly an hour of scouting, AFion Ruki and Tovanis were relieved of their ships, a Thrasher and Merlin respectively, and Ruki happened to wake up in a new station during the encounter.

Day 3:
So far Day 3 has been interesting. Kainan, being the adventurous soul that he is, got off to an early start by catching Dragon Thunder's Caracal outside station in Venilen with his Zealot. After camping in WTs and watching them log on/off and spin ships, Kainan also had the fortune of snagging Shvak's cloaking Kestrel and pod also in Venilen after we failed to grab Dragon Thunder returning from Hogimo next door with a new Caracal.

In that time, talking with STENT member CRJ appeared to confirm their alliance's general disposition towards the war, and a great deal of ego mixed with a distinct lack of tact, tactics, and ability to think through combat related situations...

[16:51:03] Shina Windol > o/
[16:51:06] CRJ > YO
[16:51:14] Shina Windol > hows it going chief?
[16:51:15] CRJ > why did u guys declare war on us?
[16:51:20] CRJ > chief... lol
[16:51:54] Shina Windol > we declared war because of the former Zeitgeist members running to Crowded Igloo to avoid our previous wardecs vs them due to smacktalk
[16:52:18] CRJ > kk.. but then why dont you come out and fight ....
[16:52:29] CRJ > we show up on your doorstep and you dont even undock

At this point I am, admittedly, nearly face-palming. I'm sorry CRJ, but even eve rookies are unlikely to blindly undock into a 20 person blob. But by all means continue to believe that our willingness to fight on our terms and our ability to continue to rack up killmails translates to STENT winning.

[16:52:30] Shina Windol > we're not out to ruin the game for the rest of y'all, we're just after Taljian, zodd nos, tovanis and his ilk
[16:52:54] Shina Windol > you ever read Sun Tzu?
[16:53:08] CRJ > yip....
[16:53:30] CRJ > but then you guys can get a fleet and lets have 1 nice battle, finish the war and get on with eve again
[16:55:12] CRJ > ?
[16:55:19] Shina Windol > see that's the problem though....we're not ending the dec until zeitgeist pays up and apologizes, leaves your alliance, or until we're satisfied they've learned their lesson...which likely isn't going to be any time soon from the looks of things
[16:56:09] CRJ > they aint gonna pay - they aint gonna leave -
[16:56:15] CRJ > what time zone are you lot? US?
[16:56:43] Shina Windol > i'm afraid that is confidential information that can not be disclosed whilst we are still at war

See, I'd think that STENT leadership might have said something to their players by now, but considering this is their fifth player that I have explained our reasoning for declaring war to, I am doubting there is a flow of information down to the masses.

[16:57:17] Shina Windol > if they're not going to leave and arent going to pay then, as i've told your ceo and sina, we have reached an impass and will continue the dec for the forseeable future
[16:58:18] CRJ > lol.....
[16:58:45] Shina Windol > :-)
[17:00:20] CRJ > so how botu u tell me where your POS is, we will come visit, then you can try to teach those guys a lesson, we can destroy your POS and bankrupt you, and then we can call it even ;-)
[17:01:25] Shina Windol > /emote chuckles
[17:01:40] Shina Windol > you couldnt get to it
[17:01:56] CRJ > TRY US
[17:02:01] CRJ > soz, caps
[17:02:14] Shina Windol > np, it's my push to talk key as well
[17:02:34] Shina Windol > pde-
[17:02:38] CRJ > i use it for teamspeak for COD
[17:03:21] CRJ > thats just around the corner
[17:05:13] Shina Windol > should come on down and visit sometime

Please, by all means we'd love it if STENT came down to PDE- for a visit...I can't guarantee that we'd be in at the time, but I'm sure they could find a POS or some locals to entertain them while they wait....and wait....and wait...

[17:06:48] CRJ > so what do you think of obama?
[17:08:41] Shina Windol > what is your opinion on the changes to pirate faction ships with this last patch?
[17:10:06] CRJ > not a fan of pirate shipe.. i prefer killing them with standard ships.. makes the kill more satisfying
[17:11:16] Shina Windol > indeed
[17:12:41] CRJ > ok, this was fun, gonna make breakfast
[17:12:56] Shina Windol > have fun
[17:12:59] CRJ > see you later at the end of my railgun
[17:13:01] CRJ > ;-)
[17:13:06] Shina Windol > see you in irjunen in 4ish hrs?
[17:13:29] CRJ > depends if i am off work or not..
[17:13:43] Shina Windol > kk. have fun

Obvious Intel gathering attempt is obvious? Better luck next time chief. I'll see you at your blob.

Hopefully with any luck STENT will be sloppy again and we'll snag a few more kills for the day. We lurve you guys...*wink*...just give us the ZTG guys and you're done with us.

First Blood

Ah Tuesday, glorious Tuesday...

Our wardec with Silver Twilight Enterprises over the Zeitgeist affair has gone live as of last night. The first 14 hours or so of the war has seen behavior that we at Legion have come to expect from Zeitgeist...ship spinning in station while talking nonsense smack in local.

So after a restful night's sleep I receive a call from my colleague from the frozen north, Kainan. The WTs are on the move after apparently getting bored sitting in station. Well that definitely gets the adrenaline flowing as only the prospect of killmails can do on a nice cold Michigan morning. I log on in Venilen, in The Citadel. All around me are six war targets...all docked, and mostly former ZTG members. After ignoring the bait/smack from IR2Way, it's back off to Irjunen for a quick ship change for something with a bit more firepower.

Swapping out to an Absolution, it's back to Kino in Lonetrek. Dodging through Venilen again and avoiding the now six docked war targets, Kainan and I pounce on a lone mining Hulk and snag the ship, the pod, and an aggressive Dread spawn that was sitting waiting to be claimed. There was much rejoicing and chuckling as the spin-masters next door refused to move even on the trip back through.

While not much in the vast scheme of things, first blood is ours and now others are paying for Zeigeist's refusal to pay up...and that always brings a smile to my face. Just remember STE, 1.5 billion and their removal from alliance and the pain stops. Oh, and please feel free to continue to mine during wartime. ^_^

Whoa...Got lost on the road of life...

*/me blows off the thick layer of dust*

Well shite, it's been quite some time since I was on here...so I'd like to start off by apologizing to the four of you who have seen fit to follow this fairly empty collection. To start off with, here's a somewhat brief summary on the last 6 months or so:

April and May were really, and I mean really slow months. Only a couple minor POS contracts and taking out some mercs who were hired to out-merc us at our merc work...if that made any sense to you, congratulations, heh. *gives cookie* They didn't do much aside from lose a few nicely fit ships and call off the dec once the target POS's were down. That and Absolute Absolution corporation decided to dishonor a ransom and ended up pulling a Legion dec for their efforts and us with a 21-2 K:D ratio and about 600 million isk up in dmg inflicted. They were given a ransom and terms and promptly disregarded those as well once our dance card was full. They'll be hearing from us again soon...I want another DJ Zizou corpse for my wall.

With no real prospect for big contracts XII Legion was looking to get in on some fun...fun with a lot of explosions, yeah...lots of explosions ^_^. That led to me talking with my good ole' buddies Hans and Rocco over at REPO Industries and on June 9th of 2009, Legion was admitted to the alliance and began the chaos.

The nearly four months of operation in REPO saw us up against the likes of Maximum Yarrage (Rest In Peace Ed Kraka), Goonswarm twice, Privateers, Noir., Mercenaries for Hire, CVA, The Council. (Come on guys, you should know better when to stiff Mercs on a contract), and so many others it would take up nearly a page on MS word to list them all, but you can check the Legion or REPO killboards for full list. Great times with a great crowd but with ISK low and burnout setting in, XII Legion departed REPO on September 30, 2009.

October was primarily R&R so I won't bore you all with details...mostly just making iskies.

November however has seen fit to grace us with a new contract to start the mail reaping again. XII Legion was contacted in early November to assist a relatively new local corporation, New Eden Combat Academy, train up its handful of members and assist in taking the fight to another local corporation under the name Zeitgeist. In the last three weeks, ZTG has put up somewhat of a fight, but largely they have spent their days sitting in station talking smack and refusing to pay a ransom and apologize to get the dec to end.

Rather than pay, Zeitgeist has now run to the Silver Twilight Enterprises alliance. Despite hope of their paying ransom and removing ZTG members from alliance they have flatly refused and so the wardec goes on. May the kills be bloody and the explosions plentiful

The Sanity of War Targets?

Alright, so here's the scoop. A few weeks ago, on March 15 we got bored...like crazy bored. Solution? Go hunting for our contracted war targets at the time of the United Nations Space Command. They of course live in Amarr space...we don't. So a' roaming we go down towards Tash-Murkon Prime to look for any viable targets. They're logged on, but they aren't coming out...not after losing two mining barges, a pod, and a deep-space transport the previous night.

Low and behold, what's this? A little noob in a Punisher wants to mess with Talonos...that's fine, the rest of us respond to the call for backup. Soon after our arrival in the next system over, the Punisher pilot comes back and engages Talonos, who had switched out to a Harbi, in an Armageddon, usually one of the most feared battleships in the game. The pilot, flyZerb, somehow manages to fit it with 5 Heavy Nos, a Warp Disruptor, a pair of cap rechargers, some cap power relays, a large armor rep, and a bunch of resist mods. No plates, no rigs, nos on a high cap-recharge setup, and no damage other than tech 1 drones (facepalms). It's over quickly, and the abomination is put down like a rabid dog.

Seeing the comotion, a Vengeance pilot offers Talonos a duel to structure in frigates. So back to the belts he goes in his Slicer. Duel starts, and apparently they missed the rest of us in local, because the Vengeance pilot brings in a friend in an Onieros and tries to ransom Tal...the rest of the squad warps in. We rep up Tal, chase off the Onieros, and kill the AC fit Vengeance. Nebulism, the Vengeance pilot, obviously isn't pleased, and so tries to jump Tal again in a belt about 10 minutes later in a Raven.

Now a properly fit Torp-Raven is something to be feared in a close-in fight. Inside 25 km nothing larger than a cruiser is safe. What we got was a high cap-recharge Cruise/Nos Raven that felt the need to bring along 3 friends in remote-rep battleships and battlecruisers. It takes a few minutes of adrenilin-pumping action, but the Raven goes down quickly once the shield is gone, and we grab one of his friends in an Abaddon...a very dangerous ship in its own right. His friends in the Dominix and the Hurricane abadon him to his fate, and the battleship dies without hardly firing a shot despite having 7 guns and no EWAR on him.

Now, nearly 2 weeks later, their corporation, Butcher the weak, apparently want their revenge and so they have declared war upon XII Legion while already participating in 4 other wars. In response to their questionable actions, our good friends in The Good Fellas respond in kind and declare war on BTCH. They have so far managed to lose an Armageddon and a Drake to combat, an Armageddon to Concord, and an alt Typhoon and Golem to petition for docking to avoid Concord response for repairing a Global Criminal. In response, their Vaga pilot has claimed an Ishkur and a pod...their only kills of the conflict as they have spent the rest of their time docked up in station.

What drives a war-dec laiden corporation to declare war against a veteran combat corporation with more members weeks after a kill? I can't say. It's obvious from their killboard and their own admission that they prefer to target helpless industrial corporations and balk at the prospect of targets that can fight back and potentially kill their Marauders and the like. I question their motive, I question their capability, and most of all, I question their Sanity...as they have apparently left it in their other jump-clone.

Frustration

It seems to me that the average quality of the general Eve-enthusiast is dropping...and it's a sad, sad thing. Really...it's bad enough that in some of the rookie tutorials CCP advocates using armor reps on shield ships, shield boosters on armor ships, or just resulting in an all-around omni-tank...but these same people then leave the shelter of their rookie systems and flood the rest of empire space. They're everywhere, and they are filled with such a false sense of confidence that it would be so amusing if it wasn't so sad at the same time. There is a distinct lack of pride in those kill mails, or so I find. It's one thing to pop a well fit ship after a nice fight, but popping these noobs isn't fun...it's almost more a public service, forcing them to look for a corporation where they might be able to gain valuable experience and knowledge about the game they so willingly pay for.

On the other hand, there is a definate lack of good contracts at the moment. With so many 'merc' corps out there, the competition for even half decent contracts is amazingly fierce. Frankly, I'm surprised that XII Legion has gotten as many as we have, even if most of them have had us shooting POS'es. We've got the numbers, we've got the skills, we've got the friends (^_^), and we've got the experience fighting empire wars/harassment...there just doesn't seem to be a need at the moment, and that's just not right. Maybe some friends will drudge up a contract soon, but until then it's back to hunting on the forums.

Greetings

Greetings fellow Eve-junkies, internet surfers, and random crazy people. My name is Shina...but you may call me...Shina. o_O

I am the Legatus Legionis of Eve-Online's very own XII Legion. For those of you too lazy to look it up in a browser, I'm the CEO. We're a lovely little Merc/Griefer corp...smaller member count, but we make up for it in skill, fun times, and lots and lots of alcohol. If you want to hire us for a contract, contact Shina Windol, Kainan Nishon, or Quintus Mavericus for details on the following contract types:

Empire Pos Takedown (small or medium please...unless you don't mind waiting all weekend)
Escort
Vs. and Harassment
Cadre (want to learn the ins-and-outs of combat, fittings, and tactics? hire us)

Want to chat, listen to drunked ramblings, or complain about why you see us flashy on your overview, join our in-game public channel 'XII Legion Forum'
